Nutek Forged Wheels Series 708 Concave on WIDEBODY BMW E46 M3 by Aerojacket

The 2001-2006 BMW E46 M3. When it comes to modified Bimmers, this chassis is one of the most popular choices. Powered by a 3.2L inline six which produces 330-340hp stock, this car offers loads of performance fun, both on the street and on the track. We've seen a few tuner shops crank out MAJOR power out of this motor, with some even reaching the 1000hp club! That covers the "GO" side of the equation. As for the "SHOW" side, there is a whole slew of upgrades available to change the appearance of this chassis, from Mild, to WILD. Whether you're a fan of the Tuner, Stance, Slammed, or Hellaflush circles, anything is possible
We met with once individual who is taking his E46 M3 to the next level. Enter Rick, from Aero Jacket. We have a long history with Rick and most of us knew him from before getting involved with the automotive aftermarket industry. We've seen the progress of his BMW M3 from its inception as a factory stock car, to the eye-popping head-turning beast that it is today.

The Aero Jacket Widebody M3 is slammed with a clean stance. The car is comfortable enough for use as his daily driver, yet also meets his performance needs on the track. For rollers, Rick wanted something different from your usual setup on the BMW such as BBS LM's, Volk TE37's, Volk CE28's or the slew of other common 3-Piece wheels. He  always wanted a set of Nutek Forged Wheels, and knew exactly what style he was looking for. This Widebody M3 currently sits on Nutek Forged Wheels 708 Concave Series in a wide fitment of 19x9.5 Front and 19x11.5 Rear.  Usually when you go with a concave design, you sacrifice the depth of the lip.  He opted on having the concavity custom cut to a less aggressive profile so that he could have the best of both worlds: Concave Design and Deep Dish, together in one!  We had the chance to do a ride along on the Las Vegas Speedway with Rick and his Aero Jacket M3, and it was a blast.  We look forward to seeing (and feeling!) whatever Rick has in store next for this beautiful BMW.

Godzilla Stance | Nutek Series 708 Concave

When people talk about Japanese Supercars, there are certain cars that are always mentioned in the discussion. The Nissan Skyline GT-R, Toyota Supra RZ, Honda/Acura NSX-R, Lexus LF-A... these are but a few of the beastly offerings from overseas. This issue's focus is Nissan's R35 GT-R, and auto tuner SP-Engineering's incredible offerings for this machine.

The 2010 Nissan GT-R comes with 520 hp right off the dealer lot, and for most people, the power and looks of the factory car are enough. For others... further customization is a must. We got a chance to work with SP Engineering, who is one of the leading GT-R tuners here in the country. Pulling into their facility, we couldn't help but notice a gridlock of GT-R's, Ferrari's, Lamborghini's and even a few McLaren MP-12C's, all awaiting the SP Engineering touch for increased performance. We knew we were in High Horsepower Heaven.

First up on the list of mods for the GT-R are upgraded wheels and tires. With a serious increase in horsepower in store, there was a need to give the car a bigger footprint to help transfer all this extra power to the road. Wanting to replace the factory 20x9.5 (255/40R20) FA and 20x10.5 (285/35R20) RA setup, SP Engineering turned to Nutek Forged Wheels for a custom built forged solution. After taking careful measurements of the GT-R and its massive brake calipers, Nutek was able to maximize the aggressiveness of the wheel design without compromising performance. This upgraded GT-R now rolls on Nutek 708 Concave Series 20x10 (285/35R20) FA and 20x12 (315/30R20) RA, adding a full 30mm of width to the tires on all four corners.

This GT-R also received SP Engineering's Stage 2 SPE750 package. What's this you ask? 800 horsepower and quarter mile track times under 10 seconds. Here's a short run down of what SP Engineering did for this GT-R:

"Did you know"

Forging is one of the OLDEST known manufacturing methods around. When it comes to wheels, a forged wheel originates as a solid piece of metal referred to as a "billet" or "pre-forged slug". The process of forging involves taking a pre-determined piece of solid raw aluminum "raw material" and placing it into a forging press. The press then redefines the actual "shape" of this solid piece of material by forcing it to fill the cavity of a set of dies under extreme high heat and intense pressure, (usually 8,500 tons as a minimum) which compresses the material to form the "pre forged slug" mentioned above. This process results in a raw forging that is significantly stronger than the material properties of raw the aluminum we started with, due to the addition of grain structure and density that was not inherent in the material in its native form.
Using this process, we can forge parts into a wide variety of different profiles. This begins the creation of an infinite number of wheel designs.
Ever seen an old Japanese Samurai movie where you see the blacksmith hammering on a piece of metal against an anvil, eventually producing the final form shaped as a sword or blade? Well, part of that process creates an end result that is similar to the forging process in that it enhances the material properties of the metal through compression (creating grain density) which in turn gives it greater strength. Grain density allows us to achieve greater strength (think load bearing capacity) and resiliency (think resistance to cornering fatigue) with less material, thus saving weight, which is a key element of why we make forged wheels instead of heavier cast wheels, that are simply not as strong when compared "pound for pound" to a forged wheel.

Nutek Forged Wheels | Series 755 Concave in the making...  (teaser)

Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder | Series 775 Concave

Everyone here at Nutek Wheels is a car enthusiast. We love the sound of engines, the screams from exhausts, the whistle from the big turbos, the whine of a supercharger, the smell of race fuel.... Okay, Okay we'll stop there. We just simply love anything that deals with cars!

With that said, we've always been a fan of Ferrari and their sexy exotic cars such as the Enzo, F430 Scuderia, FXX, LaFerrari... too many to list! We got the chance to do a photoshoot with an amazing 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder which makes a killer 600+hp! The weight to power ratio on this car is just outright beastly and the quick shifts of the gearbox can make ANYONE smile along with the aggressiveness of the exterior mods done to the car.

Jeff's 458 Italia has a couple of exterior modifications done, such as the Novitec carbon fiber rear deck spoiler, and FACTORY MADE carbon side skirts which are the first made in the US for the Spyder. Of course before seeing the car when arriving to the photoshoot location, we can hear the sweet sound of the Ferrari's 4.5L V8 combined with a Tubi Style exhaust, which can be heard from a good distance away. Luckily for his neighbors, the valves in the Tubi Exhaust remains closed for Idle or light throttle driving to make the car drive very discretely, as to not attract unwanted attention.

The Italia is sporting our Nutek 775 Series. With the perfect fitment of 20x9 Fronts and 21x12 Rears wrapped with Pirelli 245/35/20 FR and 355/25/21 RR. 355's!!! Jeff was able to get custom Ferrari caps fitted to match his Big Yellow calipers. This car is tastefully modded, and also sits with the proper stance with the assist of Novitec Sport Springs.

Too many people rush and buy things that completely change the car's character for the worst. Jeff took the time and research and picked his parts wisely to not ruin the original sex appeal that the 458 Italia Offers. Sometimes less is more....
